John Hendrie scored the last Premier League goal at Ayresome Park during Middlesbrough’s 3-3 draw with Norwich City on Saturday 8 May 1993.
However, this was not Middlesbrough’s final season at Ayresome Park; they were simply relegated from the top flight and did not return until 1995, when they played their first competitive game at the new Riverside Stadium as a newly-promoted Premier League club.
John Hendrie also scored the final competitive goal at Ayresome Park, during a 2-1 win over Luton Town on Middlesbrough’s way to winning the Football League First Division on Sunday 30 April 1995.
