Only two players have scored a hat-trick of set pieces in Premier League history. The first was Matt Le Tissier for Southampton in a 3-4 home loss to Nottingham Forest on 19 January 1995. The Guernsey-born forward scored a free kick and two penalties that day.
Wayne Rooney repeated the same feat for Manchester United in an 8-2 win over Arsenal on 28 August 2011, scoring two free kicks and a penalty.
