Arsenal won the 1993-94 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup.
The English Premier League side defeated Parma 1-0 at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark. Alan Smith scored the game’s only goal.
Arsenal were Cup Winners’ Cup runners-up the following season, losing 2-1 after extra-time to Spanish outfit Real Zaragoza at the Parc des Princes in Paris, France. The game is most famous for Nayim’s long range winner in the 119th minute. They were also beaten in the 1980 Cup Winners’ Cup final on penalties by Valencia.
The Gunners also reached the final of the UEFA Cup (now Europa League) in 1999-2000, losing to Galatasaray – the only occasion a Turkish side has won a European trophy. Galatasaray won in a penalty shootout after a 0-0 draw at the Parken Stadium, Copenhagen.
Arsenal’s sole appearance in a Champions League final came in 2006, where Arsene Wenger’s side were beaten 2-1 by Barcelona at the Stade de France in Paris.
